Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping or Neuromuscular Taping

This therapeutic technique was developed during the 1980s by the Japanese, Dr. Kenzo.
As the name Neuromuscular Taping suggests, this technique has a direct effect on the nervous system. The technique creates a tiny stretch, of which the patient is not even aware, but which is extensive enough to stimulate some of the receptors which are present in our muscle spindle. This stimulus sends information about muscle condition to the nervous system, from areas often affected due to the pathology presented. In identifying the muscle condition, the nervous system regains control over it, reducing the muscle tone in the case of hypertonia or increases its tonicity, should the muscle be hypotonic.
